The Oporto International Competition – Negotiation Edition was held at the Catholic University of Portugal, between the 31st January and 7th February.

We had the pleasure to welcome participants from all over the world, from Canada, Australia, Gerimg_6573many, Lithuania…. for the 1st edition of the Oporto International Competition.

This year’s edition focused on Negotiation and it meant to be a practical event. During the 3 days of the competition, contestants had to negotiate a different theme, this varied from Labour Law to Sports or even Human Rights. During the simulations, each lasting one hour, they were evaluated by a panel of jurors, with different backgrounds in Law.

We are proud to say the feedback we have been receiving from jurors and participants is the proof of the success of this competition. Participants state that they not only improved their negotiation skills but also they were able to spend a greIMG_6669.jpgat time in our beautiful city. And all the jurors were stunned with the skills of our candidates and their professionalism during the simulations.

Furthermore, we would like to extend our gratitude to the Catholic University of Portugal, that is always so welcoming and excited about ELSA events, and to all the renowned law firms that took part in the event: Morais Leitão Galvão Teles Soares da Silva & Associados, Vieira de Almeida, Abreu Advogados, Garrigues.

At last, we would to compliment the winning team of the 1st edition of the Oporto International Competition: Maria Pimentel and Alexandra Born. They were a true example of hard work and professionalism and the jurors were truly amazed wuth their performance. Congratulations!
