Applicants may choose to apply by themselves or in teams of two. In the second scenario, applicants shall state so in the appropriate field of the application form. Shall the applicants choose this option and both applicants will be tied up as a team through the selection process.
After submitting the application form for the Oporto International Competition – Negotiation Edition, applicants are not required to take any additional step. Additional information may be required latter by the Organizing Committee. The participants are going to be selected based on the following criteria:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Nationality diversity
- Parity between genders
- ELSA experience
- Motivation letter
1) The Main Fee is mandatory and includes the participation in the Competition, working materials, accommodation, transports and meals. Please be aware that some meals are not included, such as the one which corresponds to the Gala Ball.
2) The Additional Fees are optional and the applicants may choose according to their preferences, between the provided list.
The candidate cannot deselect additional fees after being selected by the Organizing Committee. The candidate may select additional fees at any time after applying, however, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to refuse the request due to the lack of availability. The candidate may select additional fees during the event, in Oporto, by paying immediately. Prices selected using this method may differ from those described before.
The selected participants are obliged to make a down-payment of €150 to ELSA UCP Porto. Should they fail to do so until the deadline, other candidates will be selected. Whenever the candidate is required to pay, the Organizing Committee will send an invoice which discriminates the amount owed and its International Bank Account number. Participants must pay the remaining amount on the check in.
Oporto International Competition’s participants are going to be accomodated in the Garden House Hostel and in the Oporto School Hotel, in Oporto and in the Douro Valley region respectively. The Organizing Committee will distribute the rooms according to the gender of the participants and the logistics of the accommodation. The preferences of each participant (identified in the application form) will be taken into account as far as possible.
You will be awarded a certificate by ELSA UCP Porto and Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
Please note that by sending ELSA UCP Porto your application, you are agreeing to:
-Pay the selected main and additional fees regardless of your own ability to participate in the event;
-Have valid insurance during your stay;
-Compensate ELSA UCP Porto and any third parties for damages caused by your own violations of the applicable law during your stay.
The down-payment is not refundable. Both parties agree to immediately communicate to the other party any changes to the information described.
